The Red Candle Collection is inspired by my Grandmother, Leola Louise Parson aka Weezie. Her favorite nail polish was Red + she definitely carried Red energy around her. She was a burst of joy + laughter + courage + excitement + passion + sweetness. I hope this collection touches her Spirit up above while she’s smiling at me.

The creation of Red Ochre comes from the Earth. Red Ochre is a pigmentation deriving from a chemical compound named Iron Oxyhydroxide which is the same compound that gives rust its color. This pigmentation is originally a Yellow Ochre - deriving from a mineral name Goethite. Goethite forms in iron rich clays + earthy lumps. Red Ochre is a dehydrated iron oxyhydroxide. This happens when heat or a naturally oxidized goethite loses water & what is left is a Hematite (Red Ochre - a mineral formed by oxidized iron).
Red Ochre is one of the oldest pigmentations used deriving from Earth and plants. Anthocyanins is a common source of Red pigmentation in plants and vegetables. Hibiscus flowers + red berries + beets + red wine + red grapes have this compound for its color to be achieved.
The psychological effects Red has on the brian is full of action + motivation + survival + strong + powerful energy. It stimulates love + sex as a positive trait but can also stimulate anger and revenge as a negative trait.
